Enliven’s Kandahar Home is comfortable and welcoming; you’ll instantly feel at home.
Situated in the popular Masterton suburb of Lansdowne, Kandahar Home is based around a grand character villa with beautiful cottage style garden surrounds.
Residents tell us they enjoy the social interaction (and banter!) with fellow residents and staff, the delicious meals, the homely feel, engaging atmosphere and spacious grounds.
Kandahar Home is a home in every sense of the word. Residents enjoy the well-appointed rooms, many of which include an ensuite bathroom.
Elders are invited to set their room up just how they like it. We encourage residents to bring along their own familiar things that make them feel at home.
Many residents bring items such as photographs, artwork, ornaments, bed covers and even favourite pieces of furniture. Some rooms are large enough to accommodate a television, stereo, radio, dressing tables or other furniture and/or a small fridge.
Like any home, at Kandahar Home there are lots of shared spaces, including the lounges, entertaining areas, the recreation room, gardens and the dining room. Residents use these spaces whenever they like, to socialise, read, do activities and host visitors. You’ll often find avid conversations happening in the shared spaces!

Kandahar Home provides rest home and hospital level care, including short-term respite and health recovery. Sister-site, Kandahar Court in nearby Colombo Road offers specialist residential dementia care. If there comes a time village residents need extra support, they will have priority entry to our Kandahar Home when there is availability.
At Kandahar Village you can live independently in your own Licence to Occupy villa or rental flat.
