Word of mouth makes Kowhainui Village stand out
It’s no secret that word of mouth goes a long way in Whanganui.
For lifelong local Judy Titter, it helped make her decision to move to Enliven’s Kowhainui Village an easy one.
“I explored a few other villages with rest homes attached to them and Kowhainui just stood out from the rest.
“I really liked the feel of the place, and I’d also had a lot of great feedback from friends who were already living here.”
Judy, who lived in a large 4-bedroom house prior to her move, says she’s had no cause to regret her decision to downsize.
“When my husband passed away two and a half years ago, I told my family I’d give myself two years to sort myself out. One morning I got up and just thought ‘It’s time Judy. You don’t need to be in this big house worrying about keeping it clean and rattling around on your own.’”
“Well, if I’d never made a wise decision in my life, I made a wise one in moving here. I just love it!”
The contented resident cites Kowhainui’s proximity to the city, close-knit community and her villa’s manageable size among the many things she enjoys about village life.
“They go above and beyond here—there’s even a couple of ladies who come knocking on our door every day just to check in and make sure we’re happy with everything.
“I also like knowing that there’s another option available, if I need it, to move to Kowhainui Home just a few metres away, which also has a good reputation,” she says.
Kowhainui Village is located on the corner of Kowhainui Drive and Edith Collier Drive. To learn more about the life at Kowhainui visit www.enlivencentral.org.nz. To enquire about villa availability, call 06 349 1494.
